Strong But Simple At Prada

A bare face and strong brows came down the runway at Prada. I love how effortlessly beautiful this look is.... just a bushy brow and a little highlight down the bridge of the nose. Clean, simple and stunning.

More Bad Ass Beauty Icons: Nina Hagen

I'm still feeling the pull of the 80's....I guess it's because it was such a heyday for makeup. Both girls AND boys wore tons of makeup. The pretty got uglier, and the ugly got prettier. It was fun and absurd and I'm not sure it'll ever be like that again, people are all too comfortable in their bronzers and lip glosses (myself included, but also, shaving off my eyebrows at this point in my life is not age appropriate). But there was an amazing irreverence in the 80's and it's fun to be nostalgic about it.

Luxury Punk Rock

What is more punk rock than a safety pin? And what is more luxurious than Louis Vuitton? Exactly. And what is more ridiculously fabulous than merging the two together.... Not much. That's why I adore this key chain. It's irreverent glam at it's best. So shiny. So pretty. So silly. So perfect!

Beautiful Androgyny

How gorgeous does Eleonora Bose look at the Davidelfin show? And how much does she look like Bowie's Thin White Duke?? Those cheekbones! That hair! I literally gasped when I saw the picture on style.com. The Thin White Duke was possibly my favorite Bowie phase, so elegant and handsome and she is full on channeling him. See for yourself.....

Get The Look: Gabrielle Union

I thought I had posted this ages ago, but I guess I didn't.

Gabrielle was wearing a lovely pale beaded gold dress, so I wanted something glamorous but still young and light feeling. I focused on beautiful, fresh skin and dramatic lashes, using two sets of Shu Uemura lashes on Gabrielle giving her a sweet, sultry, doe eyed look.

Cool Elegance at Rodarte

I love the cold palette used at Rodarte for F/W 2010. Pale skin and deep contours look polished and finished without looking overly made up. It's hard to use those cold colors, especially for contour without it looking ghoulish, but I think it looks sublime. It's by far my favorite look from the shows so far.

More Bad Ass Beauty Icons: Missing Person's Dale Bozzio

Maybe it's because I'm going to an 80's Prom Party for a friend's birthday on Saturday, or maybe just because it's Fashion Week and there's always a nod to the 80's on a runway somewhere, but Missing Persons' Dale Bozzio has been on my mind. Full on hair, full on makeup, you just have to love her.....

litill

My friend Lauren Coleman makes these incredible terrariums. They are so delicate and whimsical...they make me laugh with their subtle humor and smile because of their complex yet simple beauty.

The glass is blown in Portland and Lauren hand picks the plants from Cactariums in Palm Springs and Joshua Tree. She chooses succulents that are exceptionally slow growing so the landscape stays stark and clean.

I am so incredibly charmed by them.

Guess is an iconic brand. Big hair, sexy makeup and a gorgeous blonde model all make the brand instantly recognizable. The emphasis was on the eyes so I went with a bombshell, sex kitten winged cat eye. Warm skin, a glossy nude lip and contoured cheeks rounded off the look.
