Kahina Products

A few weeks ago I got a FedEx from my agency with a few products from Kahina in it.  I was unfamiliar with Kahina, but since receiving that package I have turned into a raving fan.  Not only are the argan oil based products absolutely beautiful, elegant and luxurious feeling, they also support an incredibly noble cause.  The nuts used in argan oil traditionally can only be picked by women.  Most of the women in the area of Morocco where the nuts are harvested are impoverished, and cooperatives like the one that Kahina uses provide and income for these women as well as an open door out of poverty.

I cannot begin to do justice to these women, so visit the Kahina Giving Beauty website and read about them yourselves.  It's inspiring.

I have been using the Argan Oil on myself every night, and my skin has been so supple and amazing since I started using it, especially good fro the neck and decolletage.  I've been using the Serum at work and people RAVE about it.  It's a must have item if you have dry skin, and even if you have oily skin it will not make you break out.  I have oily skin and it hasn't given me one spot... in fact just the opposite.  I don't often gush about products on my site, but this is one I can't stop talking about.  Be the first on your block to try it out.... and actually change someones life in the process.

Get the Look: Ke$ha in Teen Vogue

I got to work with Ke$ha a few months ago for the new music issue of Teen Vogue (the shoot was the day after the Grammy's).  I was so enchanted by her honesty, her intelligence and wicked sense of humor.  Even though she is a huge lover of glitter, I managed to just get her into a nice soft smokey eye and a nude lip.....sans glitter, although I was armed to the teeth with heaps of the sparkly stuff just in case!  Here's a breakdown of the look:

I love love LOVE strong bushy brow and Ke$ha has great brows.  I brushed them up so they had a great 80's kind of feeling.  It adds a subtle and effortless strength to a look.

You can't see it in the photo, but she has these great freckles.... so adorable, I love freckles.... so I kept the foundation really light, and just focused on the eyes.  She has amazing, sleepy, sexy eyes that are great to play up.  I went with a smokey grey eye with black liner and heaps of mascara and a nude matte lip.  I kept the black liner tight to the lashes for a little rock and roll drama.  Here's my list of products:

Foundation:
Vincent Longo Liquid Canvas Dew Finish in "Warm Beige"

Blush:
NARS cream bronzer in Tuomoto

Powder:
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

Brows:
Anastasia Brow Gel

Eyeshadow:
NARS "Thunderball" and Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color in "Tar"

Liner:
Chanel "Noir"

Mascara:
Lancome Virtuose in Black

Lips:
Chanel Rouge Allure in "Mythic"

i Capelli Pro Collection

I was working with a lovely hairdresser last week named Giovanni Giuliano.  He makes these beautiful "rolls" for scissors and brushes.  The one pictured above is made of a beautiful buttery leather with a luxuriously soft tan suede flap that covers your precious (and expensive) scissors.  The craftsmanship on these is spectacular, they're elegant without being over designed and belabored.  Plus I can only imagine that the longer you have them, and the more they get broken in, the better and better they look.  I was so impressed with how sexy they are I had to write about them.  I wish I had the need for one, but I don't do hair.  If I did, I'd have one of these in a second.

They aren't that expensive, but they will make YOU look more expensive, if you know what I mean....

The Name Says It All

I'm not sure what I love more, the images from this site or the pretty colors in the lasers.  I assume that all of the images on lazertits.com are public domain, but the collection of images is just amazing.  Plus, I am guessing because of the combination of pretty rainbow colors and total absurdity, the pictures make me really happy.  There's just something really joyful about them.  Hope they make you smile, or at least chuckle.
